Rotherham Charity Fashion Show

Last Wednesday night, it was the first Fashion Show that Hannah Elizabeth exhibited in. It was part of a charity fashion show for Bluebell Wood Hospice and showed other local fashion brands in Rotherham, BitterSweet Boutique and Vintage Dolls, as well as many stalls from Patchwork Pig, Hair & Beauty and accessories. All held at the SNAFU pub, High Street, Rotherham.

The night was so much fun, they split it into 3 sections being a 'Hand-Made' section, 'Vintage Inspired' and 'Partywear' and I easily fit my outfits into all three sections. All my garments are hand-made by myself so we could put any of them in this section. The Vintage section was fun to see some of our slight vintage-looking dresses go in this section. The Partywear section showed all the glitzy, going out dresses that we had been creating mostly in our new A/W range.

We had 4 lovely models to wear Hannah Elizabeth, Leonie & Lisa both with the black hair and tattoos really showed off another side to Hannah Elizabeth, our slight vintage look teamed with these two tattooed beauties brought an edge to them. Meg & Jade were our blonde bombshells, making them look glamorous and gorgeous. Thank you to everyone!!

Studio Tea Party!

Last Sunday, we hosted a little studio tea party with cuppas & buns! It gave customers the opportunity to come and see where I am, look at some sale items, sneak peaks of new A/W designs and a good old natter! 

We had a mad tidying and cleaning the day before to make sure the studio was presentable for the day, set out all of our items in a lovely manner to show and made sure we had plenty of buns & cakes!

Rotherham Show 2013

September 7th & 8th was the 34th Annual Rotherham Show at Clifton Park and I was lucky to have a stall at this amazing event! Hannah Elizabeth was based inside one of the large marquees, the Rotherham Youth Enterprise tent, along with many other young entrepreneurs that were involved with the enterprise as well as businesses involved the Prince's Trust. 

I met lots of lovely new people and business, some being very creative and different to the usual. The whole show had so much going on too, vintage car rally, dog shows, massive fun fair, horticulture, crafting, a musical stage, diversity festival and soooooo much more! Some of the businesses I shared the marquee with were Wax Groove, Static Clothing, BitterSweet Boutique, Patchwork Pig, The Screening Project, Props Skate Shop and more. How To: DIY Shoulder Displays by Hannah Elizabeth

DIY Shoulder Displays

A couple of months ago I created some shoulder displays for a festival to showcase my collars, however I then saw many options for them, such as to put your jewellery on, cover them in different vintage papers or use them to display other items.

Here's a step-by-step guide using the ever so trusty papier-mache.

You will need:

• Lots of Paper ripped up into small shapes
• PVA Glue
• Cling Film
• A mannequin
• Paintbrushes
• Scissors

Start by covering the mannequin in cling film to protect it underneath and to help get the finish product off once its dried.

By mixing the PVA Glue with water to create a runny gloopy mixture, start by layering up small sections of paper over the body form. I did 3 layers in total but you can make make it as sturdy and thick as you like.

Leave to dry for around 24 hours to ensure it dries all through, putting it outdoors in warm sunshine can speed this up. 

Once it's dried, you choose to put another layer of pure PVA over the top to create a glossy look and then leave that to completely dry, or you can paint it in any colour you wish.

Once that has done and completely dry, make a snip up the center back to create ease it getting the shoulders off. Cut the cling film just beneath the paper line and then gently pull the shoulders off. Once you have got it off, the cling film should just peal straight off from inside.

Once finished, you choose to either level off the bottom edge or leave it rough, I chose to leave it rough.
